Box Breathing

This breathing technique is known as 'box breathing,' 'square breathing,' or '4x4 breathing.' Can you guess why it's called this?

Box breathing can help you relax and reduce stress. To start, sit up straight in a comfortable chair with your feet flat on the floor. Sitting up straight will help you take deep breaths.
When you're ready, inhale slowly and deeply through your nose to the count of four. In this step, count to four very slowly in your head. Feel the air fill your lungs, one section at a time, until your lungs are completely full and the air moves into your abdomen.
Hold your breath for a slow count of four.
Then exhale through your mouth for another slow count of four, and hold your breath for four counts.
Repeat 4 more times, following along with the circle:
