It can be hard for children to talk about their feelings. Offering different means of expression - such as play or art - can be helpful and allows children to express their emotions.

However, learning to label and talk about feelings is an important skill for children to learn and practice. This feelings journal from GoZen can help get a conversation started about different feelings, where they are felt in the body, and the intensity of the feeling. Even if you don't print out the journal, this can be a good starting point to help your child practice this skill.
