Families - Learning about "Anger Icebergs"

Just like most of an iceberg is below the surface of the ocean, our angry emotions are often covering other feelings hidden beneath the surface:

This can explain the increase in our own angry feelings during the COVID-19 pandemic... as well as our children's. Our children are still learning how to manage their feelings and reaction to these strong emotions, which can lead to outbursts. Keeping in mind that there may be more "under the surface" to your child's anger is important, and can help get to the root of what is really upsetting them.
