Families - Managing During COVID-19

Dear Families:


We know that the continued school closure and social distancing measures create stress and uncertainty, for both you and your children. Some days may go well, while others are incredibly challenging. While not always easy, it's just as important to take care of your own physical and mental well-being during this time as your child's.


Here are some suggestions on how to manage anxious feelings:



There may be times when your child struggles with managing their emotions. While it may be out of character, please keep in mind that they are experiencing many of the same emotions that you are and are still learning how to manage these feelings. It's important to validate their emotions and provide a safe environment for them to express these feelings, as well as to help your child learn and practice safe/healthy ways to cope with their emotions.


If your child is upset and you are unsure of ways to respond, here are some tips/strategies you may find helpful:
